Have you ever been confused if social media is positive or not? If so, i can help by breaking it down for you. This is written by a teen, so i believe that this is valid. My name is McKenzie and I’m here to help break down the pros and cons of social media.
Firstly, having social media helps connect with others. This statement is a pro because it’s true. Those who feel uncomfortable in person could simply just text a friend. Now, i do beleive that everyone should at least try in person speech. But i do know it’s hard for others to come out their shell, so taking baby steps is fine.
Secondly, you can express yourself, and even if you start a business and spread the word. Yes, there’s regular messaging, i know that. But it isn’t like you have over 10 billion people in your contacts. Even if you did, there wouldn’t be any entertainment videos with it.
But a huge con is when it leads to cyberbullying and hacking. In my opinion, i do believe you should give a child a phone by the age of 12. But, if that does happen, the child should have limited access to certain things, like social media. But by the age of 14 and up, the child should have free will.
