As she older, she moved to St louis where she attended night school and became more aware of haircare struggles black women faced. when she developed a scalp condition that caused serious hair loss, she started researching treatments and eventually created her own formula. this led to her famous product, Walker’s Wonderful Hair Grower, which helped keep the scalp clean and healthy. Her success allowed her to open a factory and beauty school Indianapolis. There, she trained thousands of women to become “Walker Agents,” giving Black women real job opportunities and financial independence during a time when options were extremely limited. She traveled to cities like Pittsburgh and Denver, promoting her products and teaching women how to build confidence through beauty and business. Beyond her business success, walker used her wealth to support civil-rights group, donate to Charites, and uplift her community.
